CentOS 7.5.1804 for Raspberry Pi 2/3/3+ GNOME イメージの確認

先日は Minimal イメージの確認だったけど、今回は GNOME イメージを確認してみた。
GUI でどこまでまともに使えるかな?と思っていたけど、意外と使えそうでびっくり・w・

今回は Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ で使うために、最初から config.txt を入れておくことにした。
■イメージの展開と microSD カードへの書き込み

この後、一度カードを抜き差し実施。

■アンマウントして microSD カードの取り出し

■起動して初期設定
HDMI でディスプレイやテレビに映して設定。
キーボードやマウスが使用可能。さすが GNOME である・w・
RPi3+ なだけあって Wi-Fi の掴みもよく、5GHz 帯も切れることなく接続可能であった。
しかし、動きがもっさりなので、いくつかチューニングすることにする。

■適当なチューニング
・ルートパーティションの拡張
まずはこれをやらないと、microSD のすべての領域を使えるようにならない。

・パスワードの変更
デフォルトだと「centos」というパスワードだからこれは変えないとだよね。

・Trim が常時有効になるように設定
ラズパイは SD カードを MultiMediaCard として認識しており、ATA な SSD でよく言われる Trim っぽいことができる。
なので、ファイル削除と同時に Trim が走るように、マウントオプションを変更する。
ついでに、ReMount して即時反映しておく。

・fstrim の実施とスケジュール化
Discard オプションをつけている場合は定期的に実行しなくてもよいけど、microSD をコピーした後に未使用エリアを Trim するように、スケジュール化しておく。

・アップデート
なんとなくいつものステップを踏んでアップデートする。

・追加パッケージのインストール
インフラエンジニアならあると便利なコマンドを有効化する。

・tuned のインストール
CentOS 7.4.1708 までは存在しなかった tuned パッケージが使えるようになっている。
そのため、一気にチューニングが楽になった・w・
レスポンスを良くしたいので、今回はレイテンシーに特化したプロファイルを当てる。

# yum install tuned
# tuned-adm profile latency-performance

これをやるだけで、相当レスポンスが良くなりキビキビ動いている気がする・w・b
なお、プロファイル一覧は以下の通り。

・フォントと日本語入力周辺をインストール
とりあえずこれやらないと、日本語打てないしね。

此処までやれば、あとは GUI からの設定だけで問題ないはず。
まあ、Full HD ではさすがに重たかったけど、ちゃんと GUI で動いているところは感動した・w・
