Raspberry Pi 3 Model B (RPi3) と Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ (RPi3+) の性能比較メモ

まとまった時間が取れたので、自分が気にする方面だけ試験してみた。
ディスクイメージは「Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ で CentOS 7 を動かしてみた」にて作成したイメージを利用。
もちろん、同一メディアで試験実施。むしろ共通イメージなので再インストールすらしていない。

■UnixBench での性能比較
●試験環境整備
・UnixBench のビルド
まずは必要となる物をインストール

基本的にはいつもと同様に実施。

・Cyclictest の実行
次のように実行。
なお、出力結果をリダイレクトで残して後程集計に使った。

で設定。

・レイテンシー分布図
レイテンシー分布図
クロック数上昇に伴い、速度はレイテンシーはよくなっている。
それと同時に、RPi3 よりも RPi3+ のほうがばらつきが少ないように見える。

レイテンシーサマリ
収束も RPi3 より RPi3+ のほうがよくなっている。これはよい感じ。

レイテンシーサマリ拡大
RPi3+ の場合、揺らぎも少なくて良い印象を感じた。
むしろ此処までくると、ずっと使ってる RPi3 が劣化している疑惑も感じられる()

■感想
・CPU がマイナーチェンジで済んだので、システムイメージは RPi3 と RPi3+ で共通化できるのがおいしい。
・クロック数上昇に伴う性能上昇が大体想定通り。
・クロック数をそろえた場合、UnixBench 上では RPi3+ のほうが性能ちょっと低い。誤差の範囲といえば範囲なんだけども、何度測定しても覆らないところが気になる。
・openssl speed テストの場合は、クロック数をそろえても RPi3+ のほうが性能高かった。
・RPi3+ ドライバの質がまだ成熟していないのも原因かもしれない。
・リアルタイム性能も、RT Kernel を使ったときに良い印象を受けた。
